Why?

This is a one-act play I did on spec for a midnight theater troupe here in Chicago. Regardless of whether or not that company decides produces it, it was interesting to me to write in their style. I'm a fan of their work and I tried to create something new while honoring their reputation.

It's a horror script - very dark and strange - and contains some graphically violent passages. The troupe originally was interested in the second act of The White Airplane as a stand-alone, but I didn't really want to sacrifice the total vision of that script for the sake of a production. Instead, I offered to write something fresh using the same themes and circumstances as that second act.

So, Sub-Genre is either an anomaly or the start of something new: blood theater for Darren Callahan. That'd be weird.
