The record sold well when it first came out and has continued to sell in the last seven years. Brazildisc approached me about reissuing as a single disc. I agreed to it if it was remastered with new artwork. I cut one song to achieve the disc length. I also decided to put out under my name since I hadn't used TELEGRAPH since 2002 and the record was just me (with a drummer) anyway. It was originally to come out last spring, but was delayed because of the Phantom Soundtracks release of "Spikes." I do now consider this the definitive version of the record. I'm much more satisfied with the sound of the album. It was a really troubled recording session technically and I always had things I regreted. This corrects those issues. I still feel this is some of my strongest songwriting, particularly the pop stuff like "Nick & Lois" and "Jacket Weather," so if you want to hear me pretending I'm Burt Bacharach, this is the place. |
